What is the impact of photovoltaic module quality problems on power attenuation?

In the production process of solar panel manufacturers, the quality of photovoltaic modules often fails to meet the standard due to uncontrollable factors in the process, which is the main reason for the abnormal attenuation of power in the process of power generation. Common quality problems mainly include:

1. Cleaning

The residue of silica gel and EVA on the polished surface of the component is not cleaned, which will cause the adhesion of dust in the air and block the battery sheet so that it cannot work. The temperature rise of the covered part is far from that of the uncovered part, resulting in burnt dark spots due to excessive temperature, which is one of the external causes of hot spots that damage the component.


2. Improper use of flux

① Due to the abuse of flux, there are many flux residues on the surface of the battery, which are not treated before packaging, and there is still corrosion after packaging, which is easy to cause the welding strip to turn green, increase the component resistance, and reduce the component power. In addition, residual welding aids

When the pH value of the agent is small, it may also react with EVA to produce yellowing, resulting in the decline of component power;

② When the battery is welded, the improper use of flux causes the reaction between EVA and flux, forming a large number of white spots on the surface of the battery, and the power of the module decreases significantly.


3. Bubble

There are obvious bubbles in the module. After long-term use, the bubble area will increase and even produce continuous bubble channels, which will cause the power of the module to drop and eventually cause the module to be unusable.


4. Faulty soldering

The welding area of the circuit in the module is too small. Under severe weather conditions, it is easy to produce connection failure under the influence of high and low temperature alternation, and Z eventually leads to a sharp decline in the power of the module.


5. Battery grading

The power and current of the battery in the module are inconsistent, and the actual output power of the module is too different from the theoretical power of the module. Inconsistent grading will cause abnormal electrical performance test curve of components, causing hot plate effect and long-term use

It will greatly reduce the power of components.


6. Unreasonable lamination or secondary lamination

The lamination temperature is too high, or the lamination time is too long, and the components are repaired for secondary lamination. After the components pass through high temperature, the EVA yellowing aging coefficient increases. If they are used outdoors for a long time, the EVA and backplane and other auxiliary materials will turn yellow, and Z will end

As a result, the generating power of the module decreases significantly.


7. There is internal defect or pollution when selecting the battery

The defects of the battery chip will be exposed in the long-term use, and the power of the module will be greatly reduced. The selection of battery manufacturers is very important. In addition, component manufacturers should also be equipped with relevant testing instruments, such as El sorter, Japan

Testers, etc., to reduce the flow of problematic battery chips into the production process.


8. Cracked cell

There are hidden cracks in the module, and its power is slightly lower than that of the normal module of the same specification. In the long-term use process, the hidden cracks intensify and extend, causing more area to be reduced from the module circuit, and causing hot spots at the same time

Effect, causing hot spots on components, which may even burn out.


After we understand the knowledge of abnormal power attenuation caused by general photovoltaic module quality problems, we should choose high-quality photovoltaic panels when installing and establishing photovoltaic power stations. During the operation of the power station, we should patrol and inspect, and regularly clean the leaves, bird droppings, dust and other debris on the solar panels.
